Do you struggle with ways to get your salon guests to wear eye protection for every tanning session? Here’s a unique solution! When faced with a tanner who says, “I don’t wear eye protection”, pick up a small flashlight and say, “See this? It’s a small flashlight. Close your eyes. Can you see the light through your lids?” The salon guest will squint; the light from a tiny flashlight held a few feet from the eyes is amazingly bright! Then... View Article

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to attend a wedding in Italy. Being a glamorous affair I knew I needed to make sure my tan would be worthy of a Tuscan holiday. Being someone who seems to have not time for anything (and at this point resembled Caspar the ghost) I needed a base tan, quick! I have had previous success with the Sunshots so decided to return to the sun saviour drink to boost my none-existent tan. I... View Article

Last Sunday, I awoke to beautiful sunshine, birds chirping, daffodils sprouting and the joys of Spring in my step. I put on my head torch and mining gear and dug into the doldrums of my wardrobe in the hope of wearing something that didn’t resemble arctic mountaineering gear. I chose a nice blue swing dress to ease me into brighter clothing, looked in the mirror for a final inspection and…oh dear. I caught sight of my legs in the full... View Article

This weekend Yorkshire will proudly welcome 22 of the world’s best cycling teams for the Tour de France 2014 ‘Grand Depart’. Stage 1 starts on Saturday; a 190km race from Leeds city centre to a sprint finish in Harrogate in the late afternoon. Marking the arrival of the tour, we’ve noticed a huge cycling theme throughout the city, with painted-yellow bikes and our city square statues sporting the famous ‘maillot jeune’. But our favourites have to be the cycle-hoops we’ve... View Article

This new product has a super base tan building formula which promises to increase your skin’s natural ability to tan, so I was eager to try it out and see how quickly I could see the results as my last tanning session had been before Christmas… Visually,... Here at Bliss, we like to think of ourselves as ‘ tanning experts’. We are always on hand to give advice and tips to customers and friends alike. It is therefore slightly embarrassing (but also a little amusing) when one of us makes a tanning faux pas, so for my blog this month I have decided to come clean and share my latest blunder… As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the sun is finally shining and we are all able to... We love this time of year in the Bliss office – it’s the start of the season and new product time! There’s nothing we like more than getting our hands on something new to try out and smell so we can pass all this info on to our customers. I always like to have a good sniff of anything before I buy it, especially if it is going to be on my skin all day. The latest offering to land in our... View Article

The importance of wearing eye protection during your session is essential, and it is estimated that 20% of tanners in the UK still do not protect their eyes. Eyewear protects the eyes from harmful UV light, and simply closing the eyelids does not fully protect the eyes against these rays. The short term risk is corneal burning and one of the long term risks includes damaged cataracts. Protecting the eyes could not be simpler or easier, and there are many... View Article
